Jyothi transitioned to the field of education in 2016 after a 13-year career in the Government and IT sectors, inspired by the joy she found in working with children. With a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering, she has since been deeply involved in alternative education.
Her journey began by teaching Math to homeschooled children and expanded through her work at spaces like Aligro and A Little Grove, where she combined experiential learning with creative activities such as cooking, gardening, and board game design. She also taught Grades 6 and 7 at Pebble Creek Life School.
Currently at IMARA, Jyothi teaches both Math and Telugu, using games and hands-on methods to make learning fun, accessible, and meaningful. She is especially passionate about designing educational board games and reimagining traditional approaches to teaching languages. Jyothi has also participated in workshops by Aarohi and the J. Krishnamurti Foundation to enrich her practice in alternative education.
Jyothi has completed her Elementary Assistant Workshop and attended several workshops conducted by Aarohi School and J. Krishnamurthy to deepen her understanding of alternative education.
